An independent eye

I have had a few approaches recently from estate agents asking me to pay to be on their recommended architect lists. I know how it works because I have done it myself. Years ago we paid Foxtons to be their recommended architect. It taught me something about how those recommendations are ma
de and who they are really for.
There is a moment that happens quite often in property viewings. The buyer likes the location, likes the street, likes the price. But something about the house holds them back. A dark kitchen. A layout that does not flow. A loft that has never been touched. They cannot quite see what it could be.
I have done a number of accompanied viewings over the years, across London and including extensively on the Dulwich Estate, and the feedback has been that an architectural eye on site, at that moment, is genuinely useful.
It seems a more honest way to meet people than paying for a recommendation.
