ABOUT MICK — THE GENTLEMAN ARCHITECT RIBA Chartered | ARB Registered
Some architectural practices grow large and lose the thread. Mick founded The Gentleman Architect to do the opposite — to bring Bartlett-trained design thinking and three decades of high-end residential experience directly to every client, on every project, without layers in between.
A graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture, Mick trained and worked alongside Nigel Coates, Allies and Morrison, and some of Britain's most respected practices on landmark projects across the British Isles. That foundation now goes entirely into one thing: your home.
Mick works across London — from Kensington, Chelsea and Notting Hill to Hampstead, Islington, Dulwich and beyond — on the full range of complex residential projects: whole-house refurbishments, rear and side extensions, basement excavations, listed building works, and new build. Many of these projects have been featured in Grand Designs, the Sunday Times, and Ideal Home.
Every design, drawing, and construction detail is produced by Mick personally. That's not a constraint — it's the point. It means the quality of thinking present at concept stage carries through to every specification, every detail, and every conversation with your contractor. Nothing is delegated. Nothing gets lost.
The result is architecture that is considered, precisely coordinated, and genuinely bespoke — designed around how you want to live, and built to last.
